The council's collection of photographs document the people and activities of this women's organization made up of homemaker clubs across the state. The images include formal photographs of members at its annual meetings, of Grace DeLong of the North Dakota Agricultural College Extension Service who worked closely with the organization, various exhibits at fairs and other events related to homemaking and homemakers, and a series of color prints documenting the 1978 presentation to Gov. and Mrs. Arthur Link of embroidered chair covers for the governor's mansion.

Grace E. DeLong was born on April 12, 1890 in Cavalier County, North Dakota. She received her certificate to teach from the University of North Dakota in 1911, and graduated from UND in 1915 with degrees in liberal arts and education. DeLong taught home economics at various North Dakota and Minnesota schools until 1921 when she became the State Home Demonstration Leader of the North Dakota Agricultural College Extension Service.
